New Report Registration Steps :
Definition à Report Register à Add à Register Tab à

(Define all the mandatory fields).

Note: -

The mandatory Field's description of Register Tab :-

(a) Report Code                        --  It is an alias name used in Kautilya. Enter the name, like Commitment Summary.

(b) Report Format                     --  It is supported report-design format. Always select JSP.                             

(c) Generated Format                --  It is the report document output format. Always   select ALL.

(d) Paper                                   -- A4

(e) Run Time Resource Name    -- It is the name of JSP template. It's name should be the name postfix of _v.jsp

(f) Person Responsible               -- Responsible person   (Role), Select Admin.

(g) Report Type                         -- It is the report design Structure/Type, like Multi-section report, Fixed-Page etc.

                                                      Select Multi Section for multi-section report.         


 Register Report à Generation Cycle à (It defines the data/time information of Kautilya Scheduler).

Register Report à Section Info Tab à Click ‘Add/Edit’ to add a new section à (Define section information) à Click on ‘Save’ button

[Section Code: It is used in generating XML output file by Kautilya Engine.]

Register Report à List Info TAB à Click ‘Add/Edit’ to add a new list à (Define list information).

[List Code                  : It is used in generating XML output file of Kautilya Engine.]

[Report Section          :  Select the appropriate section name defined in Section Info TAB.]

[List Type                   : It is the type of list. Select Multi Section for Multi section report.]

[Database                   : It displays all the register database alias names. Select the required one.]

[Row Per Page           : It is the number of records per page, define as per requirement.]

[Multi Section Type    : Select Static.]

Report Register à List Info à Click on ‘Query’ button à Define the Query for the current section/list à Click on ‘Execute’ button to see the output sample. à Click on ‘Save’ button to save the query for the report.

Report Register à Parameters (Defining run time parameters) à Select the section name and list name from Section and List drop down menu respectively à Select database/Table name from respective drop downs à Define the parameter display name in Column Display Name field.

 Note:

The Field's description of Register Screen:-

(a) Section          : - In Kautilya, sections are used for data grouping inside the report output file     

                                (XML file). A unique row name/identifier is generated appended with list name.          

(b) List                :-  It is the sub-section of a section. It is appended with Section name to generate a unique row   

                                name in XML output. 

(c) Parameters      :-  Run time report parameters are defined at section/list for each query. More than one parameters

                               can be defined  for single report.

*      Data Fields Mappings: -
It allows format/map the data field of a report.

à Click on Add button to add the report à Select the report you want to add and then click ‘Save’ button.

* Assigning Access Rights :-
Administration à Role Report à Select the report name form Report (drop- down menu) à Select the role name from Role (drop down) à Click on ‘Save’ button.



*      New Report-Template Designing :- Every report in Kautilya has its own report template designed in JSP. Some of the common features of the templates are already defined inside the other common JSP files. These common JSP templates are to be included inside the new report template.

Common JSP files to be used inside a report template:-

(a)  Common For All Template Starting .jsp – Include at starting section of the template.

(b)  Common For Multi Section Static Template .jsp – Include before starting
        Dynamic section.

(C)  Common For All Template Ending .jsp   --

*    Executing report from ‘Report You Can Run’ Link :-

     Click on Report You Can Run à ( Displays the list of the entire executable/registered/authorised reports)

Report You Can Run à Select/Check the report wants to execute à Click on 

Set Parameter à Set parameters values à Click Submit button à Click on

Generate button (to generate the selected report/s)

Note:-After registering a Report you can of course generate that  Report , But for that you have to ask your Administrator to assign you the Role for that Report and same with Administrator himself .
